Montreal police (SPVM) set up a command post in Saint-Léonard Monday to gather information in connection with a 2023 homicide. A 19-year-old man was found dead in a vehicle near the intersection of Fontenelle and Jean-Talon streets in the borough of Saint-Léonard with gunshot wounds Nov. 30, 2023. It was the 33rd murder on the island of Montreal that year. Nearly two years later, SPVM spokesperson Jean-Pierre Brabant says they’re out of leads. Police is now seeking to meet with the public to advance its investigation. “Investigators are sure that there are some witnesses or people that saw something at 2:15 p.m. It’s not an event that took place at night,” Brabant told journalists at the command post. The command post was set up at the same intersection where the man was found. Investigators were on-site between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Those who prefer to stay anonymous can contact Info-Crime Montreal at 514-393-1133 or fill out the reporting form available on the infocrimemontreal.ca website.
