It’s not every day that Montreal breaks a record for a daytime high, especially in the fall, but the city did it twice in a row to start November. Temperatures remained well above average Thursday, hitting 20.1 C, when a normal day would see the mercury climb to 8 C. The last time it was this mild on Nov. 5 was in 1988, when the high recorded was 19 C. That makes two consecutive days when Montreal achieved record-breaking daytime highs. The last time that happened this time of the year was Oct. 30 and 31, 2024, when the city saw highs of 22.7 C and 24.4 C, respectively. Friday will remain mild, with Montreal expected to reach 16 C. The high would have to climb above 21.7 C to smash the previous record held in 1948. The seven-day forecast does indicate that this trend will come to an end soon, with temperatures returning to normal at least for a few days.
