An airport worker was taken to the hospital in serious condition after being struck by an aircraft at Montréal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport Monday evening, Montreal police said. Emergency services were called to the scene around 7:30 p.m. after a man was struck by an airplane that was backing up on the airport tarmac. Montreal police said the case will likely be transferred to the Commission des normes, de l’équité, de la santé et de la sécurité du travail (CNESST) as a workplace accident. Officers and crime scene investigators remain at the scene to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident. The Montreal airport told CTV News that operations are continuing but encourages passengers to check the status of their flight directly with their airline.
