Montréal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport was among 11 Canadian airports affected by an outage causing long wait times for travellers arriving Friday evening. The Canada Border Services Agency told CTV News that the system outage affected 11 airports, disrupting Primary Inspection Kiosks and causing delays in processing arriving travellers. The agency said the outage began around 3 p.m. and ended at approximately 10 p.m. The affected airports were: The agency said it was still investigating the cause of the outage, but that “there is no indication of a cyberattack.” During the system outage, travellers were redirected to the primary inspection lines for manual processing. Border services officers were working to verify travellers’ identities, receive their declarations, and conduct any additional screening warranted by each traveller’s individual circumstances, the agency said. One traveller told CTV News that they waited nearly three hours to enter Canada through customs at the Montreal airport.
