A 44-year-old man is dead after being stabbed by a woman in Montreal’s Ville-Marie borough on Monday. Montreal police (SPVM) responded to a 911 call at 11 a.m. after a man was stabbed on de la Gauchetière Street near de Bullion Street. According to witnesses, the suspect stabbed the victim following an altercation. The victim sustained lower-body injuries and was transported to the hospital, where he later died. The 39-year-old suspect fled the scene before police arrived, but was arrested later in the evening. She is expected to appear in court on Tuesday to face charges. The man’s death is the 12th homicide on Montreal police territory in 2026.
