Montreal police (SPVM) arrested a male suspect after a man was found stabbed to death at a depanneur on Thursday morning. According to authorities, the suspect, in his 30s, took the bus and metro after fleeing the premises. Police responded to the scene at 7:30 a.m. on Berri Street near the Laurier Metro station, on the Société de transport de Montréal’s (STM) Orange line. Police spokesperson Raphaël Bergeron said the victim, a 55-year-old man, was found unconscious and was pronounced dead on the scene. At about 11:30 a.m., police confirmed they arrested a suspect at Complexe Desjardins. He will be questioned by investigators. No charges have been laid. He is expected to appear in court Friday morning. The man’s killing marks Montreal fifth homicide of the year. Papineau Metro on the Green line remains closed in connection with the incident. An agent confirmed to Noovo Info that the closure could last several hours. Additionally, parts of Beaudry Metro, also on the Green line, have been cordoned off to allow investigators to analyze the ongoing scene.
