A man was sent to hospital with stab wounds Thursday morning after a fight broke out in St-Leonard, Montreal police say. Police got a 911 call at around 8:20 a.m. about an injured person in a building located near the intersection of Grandes-Prairies and Viau boulevards. When officers arrived on scene, they found the victim, a 45-year-old man, with injuries to his upper body caused by a “sharp object,” said Florence Stafford, a police spokesperson. He was conscious when he was sent to hospital with serious injuries, but his condition is not yet known. “According to the initial report, a conflict between two individuals reportedly broke out and the victim was injured seriously during the altercation,” Stafford added. Police arrested 41-year-old man at the scene. The suspect was sent to hospital to be treated for minor injuries and is expected to be questioned by investigators later in the day. The investigation is ongoing.
