Quebec provincial police (SQ) say a man arrested in connection with the discovery of a woman’s body in Lachute appeared in court Saturday afternoon at the Saint-Jérôme courthouse. According to an SQ spokesperson, the woman’s body was found on Friday around 2:30 p.m. in a home on Saint-Exupéry Street. Before the discovery, police had arrested a man who was found on private property on the same street that did not belong to him. Officers then went to another home nearby, where they discovered the woman’s lifeless body. She was transported to hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The investigation is ongoing.
