Last month, Hydro-Quebec presented its rate increase requests for the next three years: 2026, 2027 and 2028. It proposed annual increases of three per cent for residential consumers and 4.8 per cent for commercial and industrial customers. For the residential sector, the proposed increase could raise an apartment’s average electricity bill by $2.40 per month. For an average-sized house, that number goes up to $6.70 per month.
