Here are the weekend road closures in and around Montreal

Those planning on driving in and around Montreal should be aware that construction projects will result in road, bridge and tunnel closures in and around the island.

Planning trips in advance is strongly advised.

Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine Tunnel (A-25)

Northbound

• From Friday at 11 p.m. to Tuesday at 5 a.m., the tunnel will be closed between Exit 90 (Route-132) on Highway 20 West in Longueuil and the entrance from Souligny Avenue East in Montreal.

By default, the following will close 30 minutes before:

• The Route 132 East and West ramps (exits 89-N) to Highway 25 North.
• Access from Île-Charron Street.
• Access from Curatteau Street.

Southbound

• From Friday at 11 p.m. to Saturday at 8 a.m., from Saturday at 11 p.m. to Sunday at 9 a.m., and from Sunday at 11 p.m. to Monday at 8 a.m., the tunnel will be closed between Exit 5 (Sherbrooke Street) in Montreal and Route 132 in Longueuil.

By default, the following will close 30 minutes before:

• Access points at Sherbrooke Street, Tellier Street, and des Futailles Street.
• Souligny Avenue East (starting at 10:30 p.m.) from Friday through Sunday evening, between Dickson and Honoré-Beaugrand Streets.

Victoria Bridge (R-112)

• From Friday at 11 p.m. to Tuesday at 5 a.m., traffic heading toward Montreal will use the single lane on the west span of the Victoria Bridge (Jacques-Cartier Bridge side).
• Until Thursday, Sept. 10, the east span of the Victoria Bridge (Samuel-de-Champlain Bridge side) will be closed.

Traffic will be restricted to a single lane on the west span of the bridge (Jacques-Cartier Bridge side) on weekdays, according to the following schedule:

• Toward Montreal, between midnight and noon.
• Toward the South Shore, between noon and midnight.

Jean-Lesage Highway (A-20)

• From Friday at 10 p.m. to Monday at 5 a.m., one lane will be open in each direction on the highway between Exit 109 (eastbound) at Saint-Mathieu-de-Beloeil and Exit 113 (westbound) at Mont-Saint-Hilaire—including the Arthur-Branchaud Bridge in Beloeil.
• In Mont-Saint-Hilaire, from Friday at 9 p.m. to Monday at 5:30 a.m., one of two lanes will be closed before Exit 115 (La Grande-Allée, Saint-Jean-Baptiste, Saint-Damase).

Route 138 (LaSalle)

• From Friday at 9 p.m. to Monday at 5 a.m., exits and on-ramps to and from Clément Street on Route 138 will be closed.
• During the same time, Clément Street will also be closed in both directions between Des Oblats and Louis-Fortier streets

Bridge Street (Montreal)

• From 2 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday, Bridge Street will be completely closed to southbound traffic between Des Irlandais Street and Mill Street.

Notre-Dame Street East (Montreal)

• On Sunday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., two of three lanes will be closed on Notre-Dame Street East heading west at Frontenac Street.

REM

• On Saturday and Sunday, REM service will start at 7:30 a.m. between Gare Central, Deux-Montagnes and Anse-à-l’Orme stations.
• Regular service will operate from 5:30 a.m. between Brossard and Gare Central stations.
