One year after an 86-year-old South Shore man went missing, his family says they still have no idea what happened to him. Kamal Ayoub was last seen on Oct. 25, 2024, near Laberge Towing in Longueuil, possibly driving a black Honda 2005 Accord with the licence plate E68 LLH. Ayoub’s daughter, Elise Ayoub, had said last year that the day before he went missing, her father had a car accident. The following day, he took another car to the tow truck company where his damaged car was. “I suspect he got lost and maybe he had a heart issue or maybe he got tired and maybe stayed in his car or maybe fell in the water,” Elise told CTV News on Thursday. “We actually have no idea. We want to give him a funeral, we want to make sure he’s with my mom in the cemetery because they had lots together.” The family hopes volunteer organizations that work on missing persons cases will join their search. Anyone who sees Kamal Ayoub is asked to call 911. Any information that could help police locate him can also be reported confidentially to the Sûreté du Québec’s Criminal Information Center at 1-800-659-4264.
