Montreal’s moving season is in full swing, and for one local moving company, demand is off the charts. Déménagement Le Clan Panneton is seeing twice the number of bookings in the Montreal area compared to last year. “For the weekend, we have around 100 [bookings] and just for July 1st we have [another] 100 too,” said Pierre-Olivier Cyr, co-owner of Déménagement Le Clan Panneton. , The weekend before July 1 is one of the busiest times of the year for the moving company. In order to keep up, Cyr said he hired more workers and rented extra trucks. He says he rented out around 12 trucks for this weekend alone. Another 20 are booked for July 1. “There’s a cost to that,” said Cyr. According to him, this year, many of his customers are either moving out of the city or downsizing. Moving day is officially on Tuesday.
