CF Montreal has imposed indefinite bans on two individuals and suspended the privileges granted to supporters’ sections, following an MLS investigation into anti-Semitic remarks directed at New England Revolution striker Dor Turgeman. The club said in a statement released on Saturday that it had cooperated with the league’s investigation following the incident on Aug. 1 at Saputo Stadium. Two people have been banned for throwing objects and breaching the MLS Fan Code of Conduct. Furthermore, privileges granted to official supporters’ groups have been suspended for the match on Aug. 15 against D.C. United, whilst the privileges of the supporters’ section identified during the investigation have been suspended indefinitely. The club also stated that it will continue its efforts to identify any other individuals involved and will permanently ban those who have used anti-Semitic language or engaged in any other discriminatory behaviour. CF Montreal also apologized to the Revolution, who had issued a statement on Aug. 3 condemning the anti-Semitic remarks directed at Turgeman by CF Montreal supporters.
