With Christmas just a few days away, it’s okay to dream, at least for those hoping to win the $80 million jackpot in the next Lotto Max draw. Last September, a $50 million jackpot in the same lottery was won by 14 residents of Quebec’s North Shore, including 13 people from the small municipality of Bonne-Espérance, which has only 675 inhabitants. The lucky ticket was purchased as a group ticket at a local convenience store. Another $70 million jackpot, in the June 7, 2022, draw, was also won in Quebec. Loto-Québec said in a statement on Saturday morning that “the $80 million jackpot has been won three times since the fall of 2024. On two occasions, half of the prize was won in Quebec.” The next Lotto Max draw, on Tuesday, Dec. 23, will therefore offer a jackpot of $80 million, as well as approximately 43 prizes of $1 million, known as Maxmillions. This report by The Canadian Press was first published in French on Dec. 20, 2025.
