As Prime Minister Justin Trudeau heads to western Ukraine on Tuesday, it’s still unclear how long the Canadian troops he will be greeting there will remain in the country.

The 200 military trainers in Ukraine, who were deployed last year after Russia annexed Crimea, are not the only Canadian troops stationed in Europe.

Below is a map showing the missions Canadians are involved in around Europe. Some missions, like the one in Iceland, are periodic and might not currently have forces deployed.

Also of note is the operation in Cyprus, where one single Canadian Armed Forces officer contributes to the United Nations Peacekeeping Force.
