Winter appears to have arrived early in Saskatchewan. It was hit by a heavy snowfall over the weekend.
Environment Canada says that as much as a dozen centimetres of snow fell on Sunday and the white stuff continued to fall overnight.
Temperatures have also dipped, with Saskatoon reporting an early morning temperature of -6 C. Regina was a bit warmer on Monday morning at -1 C.
The snowfall and drop in temperatures led to tough driving conditions throughout the province. One person died in a two-vehicle head-on crash southeast of Saskatoon, near Yorkton, on Sunday.
Four people were also taken to hospital after a two-vehicle collision south of Regina. The conditions of the injured were unknown.
Police in the province also advised travellers not to use the Trans-Canada Highway east of Regina. That part of the highway has already seen several collisions and police said there was a slush buildup on the road.
Neighbouring Montana has been hit by at least 30 centimetres of snow by the same storm.
