OTTAWA - Tamil protesters are blocking the main street in front of Parliament for a third straight day, demanding the Harper government push to restart peace talks in Sri Lanka.

About 120 demonstrators marched along Wellington Street today, waving flags, shouting slogans -- and creating commuter chaos.

Senthan Nada, one of the organizers, says they want Ottawa to remove the terrorist label it placed on the Tamil Tigers - which is fighting for an independent homeland in Sri Lanka.

Nada says the ban on the Tigers helped push the Sri Lankan government to walk away from peace talks mediated by Norway.

Police are not saying whether they plan to remove the protesters, who insist they won't allow the street to be reopened until they get an indication from the government that it plans to intervene in Sri Lanka's war.
