OTTAWA - Phil & Teds is recalling the Explorer and Hammerhead models of strollers.

Health Canada says it's possible for the brakes on some of the strollers to become damaged, resulting in the brakes no longer functioning as intended or failing entirely.

The affected strollers have metal frames and were sold as single strollers or with a kit to make them double strollers.

The Explorer is a three-wheeled stroller with a black powder coated steel frame and a fabric seat, basket and canopy, and was sold in a variety of colours.

The Hammerhead has a similar features to the Explorer, but is a four-wheeled stroller and was sold in black only.

Affected strollers were manufactured between June 2010 and January 2011, and sold in Canada and the U.S. until March of this year.
