The release of Pokémon Plus, a wearable to accompany the hit game, has been pushed back until September reports TechCrunch.

Niantic, Nintendo and the Pokémon Company, the companies behind Pokémon Go, originally planned to release the game at the end of July.

However the Pokémon Go Japan website has now been updated with the new September release date, first noticed by Wall Street Journal's "Pokemon reporter" Takashi Mochizuki, with Nintendo also confirming the news on Twitter.

Set to retail at $34.99, Pokémon Plus will be worn on a player's wrist to help detect and catch Pokemon. Given the popularity of the game, its release is expected to be a big hit with fans.
