Reese Witherspoon wore cowboy boots on her wedding day.

The 'Water for Elephants' actress -- who married Hollywood agent Jim Toth at her ranch in Ojai, California, in March -- admitted while she wore a pair of skyscraper Jimmy Choo heels during the ceremony, she was quick to kick them off in favour of something more comfortable at the reception.

She explained: "I danced for four hours until I had to put cowboy boots on. I changed into cowboy boots. From those awful uncomfortable shoes."

The 35-year-old star -- who has two children, Ava, 11, and Deacon, eight, from her marriage to actor Ryan Phillippe -- also revealed she was nervous about throwing her wedding bash, as she doesn't like being the centre of attention at events.

Speaking on 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show', she added: "I don't like having birthday parties. I like going to parties. I just don't like it when it's about me. Which is so bizarre but then once I'm there, I'm having the best time."

Reese recently confessed she invited Prince William and Kate Middleton to her wedding in the hope of receiving an invite to the royal nuptials on April 29 in return.

She said: "I can't even contain my enthusiasm for the royal wedding! I'm kind of bummed I'm not invited to the royal wedding. My girlfriend asked me if I was invited. Well, no, but I invited them to my wedding!"
