Rachel Aiello

Ottawa News Bureau Online Producer

Rachel Aiello covers the latest political news from CTV's parliamentary bureau in Ottawa. She has a keen eye for all things legislative and procedural. While the daily news beat sees Rachel cover everything from high-profile political scandals, to major social policy reform, she has a special interest in stories about democratic institutions and justice policy.

Part of CTV News’ national digital team since 2017, you can also catch her weekly on CTV’s Power Play, for her Flashback Friday segment, where Rachel goes back into the archives to remind Canadians about past promises or big moments and offers an accountability check on where things stand on that issue, today.

She's also the author of CTV News' upcoming daily Election Dispatch newsletter, a brief, but comprehensive wrap on each day on the campaign trail. When Parliament is in session she sends a twice-weekly newsletter called Capital Dispatch. Avid politics reader, or curious to learn more? Subscribe here.

From Peterborough, Rachel moved to Ottawa where she graduated from the University of Ottawa's joint journalism program with Algonquin College. She has been a member of the Parliamentary Press Gallery since 2014. Rachel speaks English and is working on improving her French.
