PICCADILLY, N.L. - Police say two men are dead after a double shooting on the west coast of Newfoundland and Labrador.

RCMP were called to the scene in Piccadilly around 3:30 a.m. Sunday by someone who heard shots fired.

The victims -- one in his 30s and the other in his 40s -- were both from the Piccadilly area.

RCMP Sgt. Wayne Newell said police were not looking for any suspects, but they were not prepared to comment on the possibility of a murder-suicide.

"We're not ready to call it that yet -- it's still early in the investigation," Newell said in an interview.

"We're not looking for any suspects."

Newell said the men were found in the home of one of the victims.

One man died at the scene and the other died in hospital.

The police probe continues and the medical examiner will also investigate.

An autopsy was expected to be conducted on Tuesday.
