Low-cost carrier JetBlue has launched a cheeky social media campaign aimed at giving flyers a few tips on airline etiquette.

The first video in the series, ‘How not to take a nap,’ for instance, pokes fun at flyers who have little notion of personal space, with the offender nodding off into his seat mate’s shoulder, snoring unapologetically and, perhaps in the most extreme case, lying across her lap.

The airline is hoping to spark a wider discussion on Twitter with the hashtag #FlightEtiquette, particularly timely after a turbulent year for in-flight travel.

Last year, heated onboard scuffles forced three separate flights to divert. One of the incidents involved the use of the Knee Defender, a controversial device that allows users to prevent the seat in front of them from reclining.

Meanwhile, a survey by Expedia released last month found that the kicking of seatbacks was the most annoying in-flight behavior among 1,000 US respondents, followed by inattentive parents and flyers with bad hygiene.
