HONG KONG - Hong Kong is recalling a Chinese dairy's products after tests found a chemical linked to tainted milk powder that has killed and sickened babies on the mainland.

Hong Kong's food safey Controller Constance Chan says in an announcement Thursday that the government is recalling milk, yogurt, ice-cream and other products made by Yili Industrial Group Co.

Chan says the government decided to act after finding the banned industrial chemical melamine in eight of 30 sample products tested by regulators in Hong Kong.

The products include milk.

The chemical has been found in milk powder that has killed four babies and sickened 6,200 others in mainland China.

Yili is among companies forced to recall baby formula in China. A message to Yili was not returned.
