Disney has released new images for the highly anticipated Avatar theme park set to open next summer at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida.
At an official fan club presentation held at the Orlando resort, Disney Parks chairman Bob Chapek shared new details and images of Pandora - The World of Avatar, which will open at the park's Animal Kingdom.
The main dining restaurant, Satu'li Canteen, will feature Na'vi art and cultural items, while visitors will find souvenirs, toys and science kits at Windtraders.
Pongu Pongu is designed as a “special drink location” helmed by an “expat owner.”
One of the park highlights will be the genteel Na'vi River Journey ride, which will send guests down a sacred river hidden within a bioluminescent rainforest that ends in the encounter with a Na'vi Shaman.
Thrill-seekers can get their hearts pumping on the Avatar Flight of Passage, which recreates the experience of riding on a Banshee over Pandora.
It's the latest big announcement from Disney in recent weeks.
This week, Hong Kong Disneyland also announced plans to build a $1.4 billion expansion with the support of the Hong Kong government, that will include a new “Frozen”-themed land, dedicated Marvel world, and entertainment venue based on the latest animated Disney heroine, Moana.
