After TV star Julia Louis-Dreyfus publicly announced that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer, former U.S. vice-president Joe Biden took the opportunity to send her a thoughtful message of support – from one “Veep” to another.

Dreyfus made the statement on Twitter on Thursday where she wrote: “1 in 8 women get breast cancer. Today, I’m the one.”

The American actor is known for her role as Elaine Benes on “Seinfeld” in the 90s and more recently, her Emmy award-winning role as U.S. vice-president Selena Meyer on the HBO series “Veep.”

As messages of condolences and encouragement came pouring in following Dreyfus’ post, one in particular grabbed attention for its adorable photo and inspiring message.

Biden posted a photo on Twitter of Dreyfus and himself from a video they did together for the White House Correspondents’ Dinner in 2014. In the image, Biden and Dreyfus are coolly strutting down a hallway wearing shades.

The former vice-president captioned the photo: “We Veeps stick together. Jill and I, and all of the Bidens, are with you, Julia.”

Twenty minutes later, Dreyfus responded to Biden with: “Yes we do. Love back to all of you.”
