OTTAWA - The Canadian Food Inspection Agency is warning the public not to eat Rose brand semi-hard ripened cheese because it may be contaminated with listeria.
The CFIA says the affected product bears the lot number 011 and was sold in 2 kg and 200 g units, although the cheese may have been sliced at retail deli counters and sold in random weight packages between June 1 and June 22, 2011.
The cheese was only sold in Aibitibi-Temiscamingue, Quebec, and the manufacturer (Fromagerie La vache a Maillotte) of La Sarre, Quebec, has voluntarily recalled the product.
The CFIA is also warning people with a sensitivity to sulphites not to eat Indican brand Aam Papad Candy as it contains sulphites not declared on the label.
The candy was sold in 150 g packages and was distributed in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba.
The importer, Fruiticana Produce Inc. of Vancouver, is voluntarily recalling the candy from the marketplace.
