The RCMP issued a notice Wednesday asking the public for help identifying two males who may be able to assist with a current investigation into a “suspicious incident” reported in downtown Toronto in August.

Two males were seen by a passerby “exhibiting suspicious behaviour” while on the John Street bridge near the Rogers Centre, on Aug. 31 around 3:30 p.m., according to the RCMP statement.

The John Street Bridge is a pedestrian bridge that connects Front Street in downtown Toronto with the CN Tower and Rogers Centre, which is home to the Toronto Blue Jays baseball team.

The incident in question was reported to “private sector partners,” who told the local police force, which then submitted a Suspicious Incident Report to the RCMP’s National Critical Infrastructure Team, according to the statement.

The Suspicious Incident Reports system is used to collect information “on suspicious incidents that may be related to national security,” the RCMP said.

The police also released photos of the two men they hope to identify.

Both men are described as between the ages of 20 and 30, with medium builds and brown skin.

One male was wearing a green and white striped shirt with red trim, blue jeans, blue Adidas shoes with yellow laces, and had a watch, backpack and sunglasses.

The other male was wearing a blue and yellow striped shirt with some purple stripes, dark blue jeans, blue Puma shoes with yellow laces, and had a watch and sunglasses.

The RCMP said anyone with information should call at 1-800-387-0020, or provide information anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800- 222-TIPS.
