BRAMPTON, Ont. -- Police are investigating after a 26-year-old man was shot and killed in a residential area of Brampton, Ont., on Saturday.

Peel Regional Police say officers responded to the incident just after 10 p.m. after receiving reports of a shooting in the area.

Police say Nasser Abdoulkader was found on a residential driveway without vital signs.

They say emergency services tried to resuscitate him, but he was ultimately pronounced dead at the scene.

Police have not yet released suspect information, but say a dark coloured vehicle was seen leaving the area after the incident.

The death marks the Peel region's 11th homicide of 2018.
