An arrest warrant has been issued for a 23-year-old Calgary suspect in the slaying of an Ontario man who was killed after tracking his missing cellphone.

Jeremy Cook was shot multiple times on June 14 behind a strip mall in the northeast part of London, Ont. Cook, who had lost his phone in a taxi, used a mobile tracking app to follow it to the mall located in the area of Highbury Avenue and Huron Street.

Police said the 18-year-old and a relative approached a silver 2004 Mazda with three men inside at approximately 5:20 a.m. The car drove away, but Cook grabbed hold of a door, at which point police said he was shot multiple times.

On Friday, police in London, Ont., said an arrest warrant has been issued for Muhab Sultanaly Sultan of Calgary. Police said he is wanted for second-degree murder.

"He remains at large," the London Police Service said in a statement. "Police are urging the public not to approach this individual and to call 911 if he is seen."

According to police, after Cook was gunned down, the suspects fled the scene. The car then crashed into a pole and a fence, and the vehicle was abandoned a few blocks to the west, near the city's Ed Blake Park.

Cook's phone was found near the suspects' abandoned vehicle.

Police are also looking for another suspect. He is described as having very short hair and was wearing a black jacket or shirt, along with a fitted hat.

Police are also hoping to speak with the third man who was seen exiting the vehicle prior to the shooting.

Anyone with information is asked to call the London Police Service at 519-661-5670 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
