TRURO, N.S. - Police investigating the murder of a Dalhousie University physics student in Halifax have completed their search of two properties in the Truro area.

Two days after police started a search in Lower Truro last Tuesday, they reported finding several items of interest related to the death of 22-year-old Taylor Samson, whose remains have yet to be found.

Halifax Regional Police have not said what they found in order to protect the integrity of their investigation.

William Michael Sandeson was charged with first-degree murder four days after Samson was reported missing earlier this month.

Sandeson is a varsity track athlete who was about to start classes at Dalhousie University's medical school.

On Saturday, investigators confirmed their search had expanded to a property off Marshland Drive in Truro.

A profile on Dalhousie University's website lists Sandeson's hometown as Truro.
