Wildfires in Saskatchewan and British Columbia have prompted evacuations in both provinces. Here is a breakdown of the evacuations.
Saskatchewan
Where: The areas of La Ronge, Air Ronge and Lac La Ronge Indian Band remain under evacuation orders that were issued on Sunday, and are effective until July 12.
Number of evacuees: Approximately 9,000 people have been forced from their homes due to the wildfires.
According to Jay Teneycke, communications manager with the province's ministry of government relations, 7,059 residents were receiving government support at one of the evacuation centres on Monday. This number does not include the evacuees who have sought shelter with friends of family.
Where are they going: The province has established evacuation centres in the following cities: Prince Albert, North Battleford, Saskatoon, Regina, and Cold Lake, Alta.
British Columbia
Where: According to Emergency Management BC, approximately 920 homes were on evacuation alert as of Tuesday morning.
Number of evacuees: Government support has been given to over 200 people in B.C. due to the wildfires east of Kelowna and in Port Hardy, the service website said.
