Air Canada has ranked second in an unscientific survey that lists airlines according to the rudeness of their flight attendants.
The informal poll, conducted by online blog Airfarewatchdog, asked 3,400 frequent fliers to choose from a list of 14 airlines.
Low-cost U.S carrier Spirit topped the survey, receiving 26 per cent of the votes, while Air Canada received the dubious second-place distinction with 14 per cent.
Frontier, Virgin America, Allegiant, United and US Airways all received more than five per cent of the vote.
Meanwhile, most passengers surveyed didn’t seem particularly fazed by in-flight service on Alaska and Southwest airlines: each received only one per cent of the vote.
Results were analyzed by number of passengers flown between January and October 2013 to account for the varying size in airlines.
In an email to CTVNews.ca, Air Canada spokesperson Angela Mah said that the airline can’t comment on the methodology used for the survey.
However, Mah said, Air Canada has been recognized with multiple awards for their flight attendant services from “official benchmarking organizations” across the global airline industry.
“In addition, our monthly customer satisfaction surveys done by an independent organization shows in-flight service satisfaction continue trending upwards,” Mah said.
