OSLO, Norway - The right-wing extremist who confessed to killing 77 people in a bomb and shooting rampage in Norway has sent a letter to Norwegian media accusing the psychiatrists who diagnosed him as psychotic of lying.

In the letter, parts of which were published by Norwegian tabloid VG on Wednesday, Anders Behring Breivik says the two psychiatrists who evaluated him in prison fabricated 80 per cent of the content of their 13 meetings.

Torgeir Husby and Synne Soerheim concluded Breivik suffers from paranoid schizophrenia, a diagnosis that was questioned by outside experts and commentators in Norway. An Oslo court ordered another evaluation, whose conclusions are expected before the trial starts April 16.

Husby and Soerheim didn't immediately return calls seeking comment.
