Police in New Brunswick say they have identified human remains as those of 16-year-old Hilary Bonnell.

RCMP said today the positive identification of the missing girl's body was made through dental records.

Results of an autopsy to determine the cause of death are several weeks away.

Meantime, police say a suspect in her death remains in custody.

Police announced Friday they found the remains buried in a remote wooded location in the Tracadie-Sheila area.

Bonnell had last been seen about an hour away from that location, at the Esgenoopetitj First Nation.
