VANCOUVER - The attorney general is in the running, the solicitor general is out.

After weeks of speculation, Solicitor General Rich Coleman says he won't be seeking to replace outgoing Premier Gordon Campbell because his heart is not in it.

Attorney General Mike de Jong, however, couldn't wait for his own press conference to confirm he'll be seeking the leadership, instead posting his intention to run on Facebook last night.

De Yong, who is stepping down as the attorney general to campaign for the top job, joins former cabinet colleagues Kevin Falcon, George Abbot and Moira Stilwell in the contest.

Former B.C. Liberal cabinet minister-turned-radio talk show host Christy Clark is expected to announce later this week that she will be running, as well.

Campbell announced last month he will step down over the public anger at the government's introduction of the harmonized sales tax, and a new B.C. Liberal leader will be voted in on Feb. 26.
