Michael Douglas's health is "continuing to improve."

The 66-year-old actor -- who was pictured looking frail after completing chemotherapy for throat cancer in November -- is making a steady recovery and starting to look more like his old self.

His representative Allen Burry said: "He's doing fine, his health continues to improve and I can see the difference."

The 'Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps' star revealed in January that he is in remission for stage four throat cancer and his medical treatment was so harsh his weight plummeted to 139 lbs.

However, despite his health now improving the star -- who has children Dylan, 10, and seven-year-old Carys with wife Catherine Zeta-Jones -- is having regular check-ups and isn't rushing back to work.

Allen told RadarOnline.com: "He goes in once a month for a check-up, and he will do that for the first year.

"The appointments are just to monitor how he's doing, and so far he's clear, and they're pleased with his improvement.

"It takes a while so he isn't working yet, and won't start doing movies until the fall."

Around the time he announced his illness, Michael confessed he couldn't forgive the doctors who at first failed to notice that he had a tumour.

He said: "I understand it's a very difficult cancer tumour to find. It was under the tongue and it's unusual, but I'm still doing my homework on it. I would say I have not forgiven... stage two would have been nicer than stage four."
