PINE FALLS, Man. - A Manitoba woman has won what is believed to be the largest lottery prize in the province's history and one of the largest ever in Canada.

The business that sold the $50-million ticket in the most recent Lotto Max draw says Marie Fontaine of Pine Falls, Mba., bought her numbers about one hour before Friday's cutoff.

Laurie Wilson, the owner of Broadlands Mall in Pine Falls, says Fontaine initially phoned the store on Saturday to check her numbers, then came down with her husband and several of her siblings to double check them.

Wilson says the family was jumping up and down, screaming, crying and laughing all at the same time after determining that Marie had captured the super jackpot.

The store owner says she was shaking as much as Marie was as they filled out the paperwork to claim the whopping big prize from the Western Canada Lottery Corporation.

The corporation has not confirmed the name of the winner, but has previously issued a statement saying that a single winning ticket was purchased in Manitoba.
