If you aren't interested in spending your March Break week on the slopes, there are options close to home. Remember that business travel is extremely limited over this period of time, so hotels in city-centre destinations often create packages to entice families to stay and play.

In Edmonton, for example, plenty of hotels offer packages in partnership with the West Edmonton Mall including ones with unique ways to interact with marine life. The Sea Lion Encounter allows you to touch, train, and swim with Pablo, Clara, or Kelpie— the only program of its kind in Canada. Or be a Trainer for the day to work alongside one of the animal care staff and learn what it is like to care for sting rays, sea turtles, reptiles, and other animals.

They are constantly changing but if you can get a week at an All-Inclusive at this time of year for less than $1300 you are doing pretty well. Do remember, though, that not all resorts are created equal. It's worth checking out the hotel services and on-line ratings at user-review sites like such as TripAdvisor

Should you book now or wait? I think you will still be able to get some truly last minute deals. Just make sure you are not too picky about the destination. You need to be flexible.
