Woodstock, Ont., man charged after CBSA seizes 266 kg of meth at Blue Water Bridge

The CBSA says the drugs were discovered during a search of a commercial truck that was entering Canada from the U.S.

A Woodstock, Ont., resident is charged after Canadian authorities at the Blue Water Bridge in Sarnia seized 266 kilograms of methamphetamine.

According to Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), a commercial truck arriving at the Blue Water Bridge port of entry from the United States on Feb. 4 was referred by CBSA for a secondary examination.

During the inspection of the trailer, border services officers, with the help of a detector dog, found 16 duffle bags full of suspected methamphetamine. The total weight of the narcotics was 266.4 kg.

A 29-year-old man was arrested and transferred into the custody of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP).

He has been charged with Importation of Methamphetamine, as well as Possession of Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Trafficking under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

Since Jan. 1, 2025, CBSA at border crossings in southern Ontario has seized 616.5 kg of methamphetamine coming from the United States.
