For people looking to travel to the Gateway to the West, a popular travel route will be flying out of London’s airport once again next spring. According to a news release from London International Airport, seasonal service between the Forest City and the Gateway to the West will be returning in May 2026. Beginning May 17, 2026, and through Sept. 13, 2026, WestJet will operate non-stop flights three times weekly between London and Winnipeg on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. “Winnipeg was the first destination that WestJet served out of London,” said Scott McFadzean, president and CEO of London International Airport. “It’s great to see these popular flights return and offer more convenient travel options for our region.” WestJet Senior Airport Affairs Manager Mike Perkins believes this move will also strengthen southern Ontario’s connections to Eastern Canada. “Through the introduction of non-stop service between London and Winnipeg, WestJet is bringing even more friendly, affordable, and reliable service to beautiful Southwest Ontario,” he said. “This new route strengthens connections across central Canada, making it easier for families to reunite, communities to grow closer, and local economies to thrive,” “We know Londoners are eager for more destinations and we hear you,” added Gerry Vanderhoek, director of commercial and air services. “We’re working closely with the airlines to make that happen.
