To celebrate Canada’s role in the upcoming Artemis II mission to the Moon, Tim Hortons will be launching a limited-edition box of Timbits at locations across the Forest City. According to a news release, a limited-edition commemorative “Moonbits” box of Timbits will be soon released exclusively in London in honour of the upcoming Artemis II mission to the Moon and astronaut Jeremy Hansen, who hails from London. The limited-edition Moonbits box will be available throughout London once the launch date for the Artemis II mission is confirmed. The earliest potential launch date is currently slated for Feb. 8, 2026. The Moonbits Timbits box will come in a pack of 10 and will include a special message about the upcoming mission. “Canada will make history when Canadian Space Agency [CSA] astronaut Jeremy Hansen, born and raised in the London area, flies around the Moon as part of Artemis II, the first crewed mission to the Moon since the Apollo missions over 50 years ago. Canada will be only the second country to ever send an astronaut around the Moon.” “We’re excited to be celebrating this historic occasion with guests and the thrilling Canadian connection to this mission that we can all be so proud of,” Tim Hortons Chief Marketing Officer Hope Bagozzi said in a release. Artemis II will be the first crewed mission to the Moon since 1972, while Hansen will make history as the first Canadian to go to the Moon. The four-person crew will launch from Florida on an SLS rocket and fly onboard the Orion spacecraft, providing the opportunity to test various systems in deep space in preparation for future missions. The four astronauts will venture beyond the far side of the Moon before completing a lunar flyby. Orion will travel more than one million kilometers over the course of its 10 day-long mission, before splashing down off the coast of San Diego in the Pacific Ocean, according to the CSA. The Moonbits box will be available at participating Tim Hortons locations across London while supplies last.
