A Thamesville resident has been fined for a deer hunting violation. The Ministry of Natural Resources said on Nov. 7, 2025, a conservation officer did a deer hunting compliance check and found the man did not have a valid deer hunting license because his tag was already used. It added that the man was trying to party hunt using the tag of someone not actively hunting. Further investigation found that the man falsely applied for a farmer/landowner controlled hunt validation through another person’s licensing account and didn’t have the necessary approval to partake in the deer hunt. The deer was seized and the man was fined $5,000.
