Southwestern Public Health officials have issued an advisory after several overdoses in St. Thomas and Elgin County. They say five people overdosed Monday, needing hospital treatment. No deaths were reported. Officials say the overdoses are associated with a white substance, suspected to contain fentanyl and ketamine. Health officials say users should avoid doing so alone, and in the event of an overdose, call 911 immediately and administer naloxone if an opioid overdose is suspected.
