The Sarnia Police Association (SPA) has ratified a new collective agreement. A vote took place on Thursday, deciding on a proposed 2025-2027 collective agreement. “After a long process, we are pleased to have reached a fair agreement with the PSB [Police Service Board] for the SPA membership,” said Gavin Armstrong, president of the SPA. The SPA is a professional police labour relations organization, which offers members of the Sarnia Police Service support via bargaining and labour contracts, but also while promoting a healthy and safe work environment, it said. “We are very pleased to see the ratification of the collective agreement and the successful conclusion of this bargaining process,” said Kelly Ash, board chair for the Sarnia PSB. “Through respectful dialogue, good-faith negotiations, and a commitment to finding common ground, the parties were able to achieve a fair contract that recognizes the interests of our members, the Service, and the community. The board thanks everyone involved for their dedication and professionalism throughout these negotiations.”
