A 48-year-old Sarnia man is facing an attempted murder charge following a police investigation into harassment, a reported break-and-enter, and alleged breaches of court-ordered conditions. According to Sarnia police, the investigation began earlier in 2026 after they were made aware of a pattern of ‘harassment and unwanted communication’ towards the victim. The accused was previously arrested on May 11 and charged with criminal harassment and harassing communications. At that time, he was released under conditions that prohibited contact with the victim and barred him from attending locations associated with them. Police allege the man continued efforts to communicate with and monitor the victim despite those conditions. On June 13, officers responded to a report of a break-and-enter at a residence. When they arrived, police say they found the accused inside the home and took him into custody. As the investigation continued, police say additional evidence, including online communications and items seized at the scene, led to more serious charges being laid. The 48-year-old Sarnia man is now charged with multiple offences, including attempted murder. He remains in custody following a bail hearing.
