Some of London’s future builders have been gifted with much needed tools to start their trades. Students from the Regina Mundi Construction Academy were invited to Copp’s Buildall on York Street in London Tuesday for a shopping spree. Copp’s and Drewlo Holdings teamed up to donate a combined $20,000 in construction equipment to the program. “We’re always looking for trades. I’m just happy that you guys are getting exposed, and have an interest, and follow your passion whatever way that goes,” Allan Drewlo, President of Drewlo Holdings told the group of 13 aspiring builders. “We’re really excited for being a part of this program because we get to provide tools to you guys who are the future generation that are going to build our city,” said Mac Copp, of Copp’s Buildall. Part of the funding has also been set up as an account the program can draw from through the year. The event gave students a chance to pick out tools they will train on. It also provided them an opportunity to speak with trade representatives on hand. “Well, they gave me just a bunch of everything. They gave me a new hammer, which is pretty cool, measuring tape, a little belt. A lot of different things. Very useful,” said Natalie Lima Tobias, a student in the program. “I love to work with my hands. I never really wanted to go to university, so this is like a good opportunity to get into the trades,” said student Liam Galem.
