An investigation is underway regarding a cyberattack on Oxford County’s information system. According to a statement from Oxford County’s warden Marcus Ryan, third-party cyber-security experts are assisting with containment, remediation and conducting a forensic investigation after the attack was identified. Earlier last week, the county announced an IT incident, but provided little information. Security experts continue working to prevent more unauthorized activity, but the county says their full response may take months. The county continues to determine the extent of the cyberattack. The statement goes on to say additional security measures will be introduced, and all systems are operating normally.
