A new men’s-only drug and alcohol treatment centre is set to open in London next week. “Our goal and our mission is to get to a point where 75 per cent occupancy is for men from EAP groups, insurance, and private pay and 25 per cent of the occupancy and guests that are covered by the costs and profits from the other,” said Drew Weir, founder of the Forest City Healing Centre. “They are men from London and the surrounding areas that will be able to access the services at no cost.” The 20-bed facility is located at Queens Avenue and William Street, offering a 28-day recovery program. Officials say patients will have a regimented routine, participating in a variety of activities like yoga, meditation, mentorship groups, and counselling. They say they hope they can expand capacity in the years to come as well. “I would like to see London come together and use a space like this in a positive direction so that we can have a brighter future for all of us and help the men that are in it to find a way back to a good path,” said Weir.
