The casino at Sarnia’s Hiawatha horse park is closing. The provincial government is terminating the lease with Gateway Casinos. The slots will shut down by March 31, 2026, and up to 100 jobs will be lost. The provincial government had allowed the machines back at the track in January 2020, to supplement financial struggles in the horse racing industry.
